The Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Eye of the Shark is one of the most distinctive and celebrated cigars ever produced by the Fuente family. Built around the legendary Don Carlos blend, this rare figurado combines a premium African Cameroon wrapper with carefully aged Dominican binder and filler tobaccos.

Its unusual shape is immediately recognizable: the lower portion is square-pressed while the upper portion transitions into a rounded, tapered belicoso. The result is a cigar with unmistakable visual presence and a complex, evolving smoking experience.

Most notably, the Eye of the Shark earned an exceptional 97-point rating and was named Cigar Aficionado’s No. 1 Cigar of 2017.

The cigar was released in 2016 as a tribute to Carlos Fuente Sr., the Fuente family patriarch and the “Don Carlos” for whom the line was named.

The Don Carlos family itself is built around aged Dominican tobaccos and African Cameroon wrappers. Arturo Fuente states that select tobaccos used for Don Carlos are aged for as long as 10 years.
